Mosrites are the coolest!

Postby Johnnyguitarjl » Wed Dec 10, 2008 1:52 pm

Hi my name is JohnnyGuitarHarris of Powhatan,Va.USA
I have a Mosrite Celebrity serial # A0577.
I bought this guitar for $250.00 out of the Trading Post Newspaper.
I've had this guitar for 20 years.
It has abalone inlay in the fret board.
I've never seen this on any of the Mosrite guitars.
I don't know if it was custom made or someone before me had it done.
It is the best sounding guitar I have and I have 16.
I have a 1967 Gibson ES 175 and the Mosrite Celebrity plays and sounds better.
This is a cool site and Mosrite guitars are the coolest.
My Mosrite is on the Ventures Mosrite Owners List.
How can I upload a picture of my mosrite?
Thanks

This is my Mosrite
You see the abalone in the fret board.
It plays like a dream.
I use a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp.

Yep, the F holes are huge. That's how they came before Mosrite starting building their own bodies. These early ones are prefab from Germany, probably made by Framus.

If they were pre-fab does that mean there are other guitars with the same body? Or was the body construction just farmed out?

Personally, I would be much more excited about Celebrities if the neck wasn't set so far into the body.
