Hi there...
I have an old mosrite that was given to me by my grandfather. He used to play this through his 1969 Kustom amp, which is mine now as well. I'm wanting to find out a little bit about the guitar... What it's worth and what not. It does need some TLC. Especially the finish that's non it. It's cracked and chipped in some areas.
The only serial number that I can find on it anywhere is on the neck itself the number looks to be 1o0187, or it could be 1c0187... I can't really tell what that second number is.
Thanks for any input!
Here are some pics of the guitar
Hi. Intro and what is this guitar?

Hi Rick,
Welcome to the forum.
Apparently you haven't allowed public access to you photo's as all I'm seeing is a red X in a box. You need to go back to where you have them stored allow them to be made public.

Rick,
Welcome aboard. The pictures are showing up now. The gutiar is a Celebrity model, probably from the 70s though some others here may have more accurate info. I've never seen one with the exact features your has. Cool guitar.

Welcome Rick, I'd say early 70s as well being that you have the 'by-pass' switches on board.
I do have to admit, this is the first time I have seen the Switchcrafts on board a Celebrity.

The push-buttons are relatively common on '70s Celebrities. I'd say they mostly show up from 1972 to 1974, concurrent with the V-IIs and Bluesbenders. I've seen many Celebrities over the years with this exact wiring scheme, so that seems pretty standard to me.
The special details on this one are the dramatic pickguard cut and the sleeve guard. Semie must've put something special in his coffee that morning.

Those cracks in the top scare me, as well as the chips around the binding, but depending on whether the damage is structural or cosmetic I'd say $700? To me the tortoise shell details (sleeve/pickguard) are the guitar's charm points.

From what I can tell, it's only cosmetic. Lots of it unfortunitly.
