Mosrite Vox Celebrity Guitar (Rare)

Postby EF@MosriteRecords » Wed Nov 02, 2011 2:52 pm

Hi all its good to be back. Andy is back in Tennessee from his Daughter's in Colorado.
He is doing well at this time.

I have a Rare Mosrite Vox Celebrity Guitar to submit. Semie built 3-4 of these guitars
for the Vox Music Co. They wanted Semie to built Vox Guitars for them. However
the deal never really went anywhere except that 3 or 4 were built and never delivered.
They were sold or given away by Semie.

Wow, Elaine! That is awesome. I would love to get more information on that for my website. Does it have a serial number? PM me if you'd like to discuss it off line.

thanks!
Sarah

That is amazing. Just when you think you have seen it all. Thanks Elaine. Top 3 of my Mosrite wish list for sure. Would look great with the TO Buckingham.

I agree this really surprised me. I will submit a more complete story on this. I have more
photos of Back of Body and Neck as well as close-ups of the body.

Hi Elaine, good to hear from you. Yes, yet another interesting 'bit' of Mosrite history and -surprises, wow!
Thanks for sharing. I like the headstock shape with that cool "V" for VOX cut-out 8-)

[edit] Brutus, this one was definitely made for you! :P

Thank you for these photos! Very cool guitar, love the inlays on a Mosrite neck. Can't tell from the photo, but are those Vox amp knobs on there?

These would certainly have been a better guitar than the Eko made hollowbody Vox guitars. Do you know when these were made?

Wow! I agree with Veenture; that's the best looking Vox headstock I've seen.

I wonder if this guitar was made before or after the Ventures model inspired Vox Bulldog?

Dear Forum

I submitted these photos after they were sent to me. The guitar is not owned by me.
I have been asked to research these guitars Circa 1965-66. Date subject to change. I am meeting
with Andy Tues. and going through old paper work to see what we may find. Any comments are welcome.

No serial number we can see. Neck may be popped off to see if Semie wrote something
on the heal.

Thanks all

Elaine

Mosrite Vox Celebrity More Photos

Postby EF@MosriteRecords » Thu Nov 03, 2011 1:23 pm

Dear Forum

Here are some more photo's. Enjoy and more later.

There may be a possibility these 3 or 4 guitars were made 67-68. We need to find the paper work.
Back to the file cabinets.
