my name is Roger Winters, and I live in Johnson City, NY....I'm 66 yrs old and semi-retired.
I have played guitar for about 50 yrs, and am a huge fan of the Ventures. My first new guitar that I bought was a Fender Jaguar...I've traded in half a dozen guitars over the yrs, and one of them was a Ventures model Mosrite....I foolishly traded it in for another guitar that I don't have anymore, either. I've always loved the Mosrite look and performance, and wish to own another one in the near future.
I'm confused about where to find a new USA-made Mosrite......I thought that Ed Roman was the only USA authorized Mosrite dealer, but have recently heard that he no longer carries them.
I would appreciate any information as to where I might locate a dealer for real Mosrites.
I know there are lots of copies, and I may end up buying one of those.....
I love the Ventures era in the 60's when they played Mosrites, especially Nokie Edwards.
my introduction.....

Re: my introduction.....
hi Tommy....yes, I finally did, lol! It is great seeing all of these great posts and replies....It seems that Hallmark is familiar here...I never even heard of Hallmark guitars until you mentioned them in facebook.........the custom 60 looks great for only $999. ......
I emailed Nokie last night, but not sure if I'll get an answer. I know he must be very busy...

Re: my introduction.....
thanks, Sarah ......I have to say that the sunburst Mosrite at the top of the Forum page is exactly like the one I bought new in around 1965 or 1966.....
my current guitars are:
2006 Fender Strat
1978 Ovation Glen Campbell acoustic/electric with gold hardware (bought new, sight unseen)
If I were to include all the guitars I've ever owned, they would include a 1964 Fender Jaguar, a Guild Starfire IV, a Gibson 330, an Epiphone Texan acoustic, and a homemade Fender Telecaster that I found in a music store...
And the amps......I wish I had kept one or two of those also........a Fender Showman, Fender Super-Reverb, Fender Super Amp.......I also owned a Fender Precision Bass and a Fender Bassman amp that I bought and sold fairly quickly.......
Used to be in rock bands in the 60's, but then faded out when I got married....then into gospel music with the Ovation......then a long lull......got back into music a few yrs back when my son became a great heavy metal lead player.......

Re: my introduction.....
Welcome Roger. 66 eh?! I'm 65 going on 66 but feel like 16 sometimes . Indeed, guitars come and go but folks like us here always come back to Mosrite (and Ventures music!).
Apart from eBay and Craig's List, there's Artie ([bakeoboy] a forum member too), who sells Mosrites at Front Porch Music. Dana Moseley winds the pickups! Check him out http://www.frontporchmusic.net/
Hallmark guitars make fine copies too. (Joe Hall worked for Mosrite during the sixties and later started Halllmark guitars)

Good luck and have fun.

Re: my introduction.....
thanks, Veenture.........I've been checking out the Hallmark custom '60, and it looks really nice!
Definitely more affordable than the Mosrites , and seem to have every feature that I would be interested in....I'm just waiting on a few replies to inquiries that I have made regarding Mosrites, before I make a decision.
I have a few photos of when I played in the 60's, with my equipment......just have to figure out how to download them, then get them on here..
I love this forum, it is so informative.......
We may be elderly, but still at least 10 yrs younger than Don Wilson, and he is still playing, lol..

Hey neighbor. You may be 45 min. or so from me. Artie from Front Porch Music has the best price's on new Mosrites. Give him a call and he can get you going with a Mosrite. Hallmarks 60 Custom is also a great guitar. I have a Hallmark and a Parts Right Mosrite which means it is made with NOS Mosrite parts but assembled and painted by me. There are several others here that have also built Parts Right Mosrites.

Welcome Roger!!
I'm a new member as well and I'm really glad to have found this forum. Good luck in your search for a Mosrite. I just bought my first, off eBay the other day.
