KRamone,
Yeah, these were made circa '67-'68. They were made by the Zen-On Company, which not many were shipped if any at all according to the Vintage Guitar Price Guide. I'm also looking thru the Internet to see if there is any truth that this is the company that became Firstman. The Zen-On Company supposedly existed for only a few years.

Last time I saw one of these for sale, the seller was located in Australia. It also had a more "correct" headstock shape than the one pictured above.

It does have that little tear drop tip on the neck plate same as the Firstman, however this one has six mounting screws where the Firstman had four. Interesting guitar.

I use to have a Daion guitar which is mosriteesque and it kinda had a simular story. I found out more info on it when I worked with this old guy at guitar center. The Daion guitars were kinda a guitar that almost wasn't apparently Daion were more know for their drums and to save on export cost they put the guitars in there.

Kevin,
I don't think I've ever seen a Daion "Mosrite Inspired" guitar. You don't by chance have an old pic of the Daion, do you?

Danny, I'm not sure which is correct, but either Zen-On (Morales) switched to the 4 screw Neck plate
before they closed their doors, or very few of the early Firstman's had the 6 screw Neck plate.

Hey Dennis sorry it took so long to get back to this thread here's some pics of the same model I had but mine was blue. The simularities I found when I first bought it was the offset upper bout where the armrest is, the johnny Ramone style pickguard and slim neck and three on a side tuners. Make sence? Kevin

Heho,

my bandmate Ralf is auctioning his morales. it's quite a nice one with (i think refinished) metallic blue finish, matching headstock...

I will soon appear on ebay and you can watch a funny video of this one here:
