1967 Mosrite Doubleneck Guitar

Postby mwhq » Sun May 03, 2009 5:32 pm

(Serial No. 2J405/2J40453) Excellent minus condition. Very cool guitar with both 6 and 12 string necks. Sunburst finish. The finish, hardware and electronics all look original and stock Mosrite. It has the small low frets, small dot inlays on the fingerboard, and a Mosrite vibrato. Pot codes date to the 4th week of 1967. Semie was known to assemble guitars from whatever parts he had on hand, and this one is missing the kidney shaped plates on the back. However, there are several examples in the Japanese Mosrite book that either lack the plates or the plates are just decorative trim over the neck screws. Plays great as it was just set up professionally. Has that signature Mosrite sound. Comes with the original very battered hardshell case. Many pics available - please email.

$4250. Trades considered. Lots of references available.

Thanks!

She's pretty. If I had the cash I'd bite.

For some reason I doubt Semie would've put that stoptail on backwards...

I was only trying to figure out why the heck it has Strap Buttons on each Bullhorn,
but whatever the case, she's still a beautiful clean example of Semie's design ;) .
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Charles -
Was that price a typo or are you giving us the Mosrite Forum "discount?"

Here’s a ‘66 doubleneck JM with correctly mounted stoptail, kidney shaped plates on the back and a single strap button (for the common right handed players, like myself...so I should be having this one! ;) )

The one Charles is selling has each neck bolted on with 3 screws and no plates, much like the CBS-Fender 70’s Stratocaster but with matching triangular-shaped plate.

I am impressed. Nothing can pass our detective eyes here! :P

So how much is the one Veenture found?
