Man, this forum has become deader than a morgue.

I see people checking in multiple times daily but it seems no one has anything to say. A few have posted a topic only to get one or two responses then it dies away. I guess everyone is like me, they don't have anything of interest to post and keep checking in to see if anyone else does. Looks like SurfGuitar101 forum is in the same boat. Must have something to do with the month of February. Yeah, that's it!

I know what you mean. I usually check in a few times a day, from work, but don't have anything (projects) going right now. I do like reading about those projects others have going though ... It's just tough to come by anything Mosrite for a project these days. Wonder why none of the parts makers don't build bodies and necks for Mos?

Ok so it's not just me that noticed that. That's a great idea.I think that Warmoth or some come company with enough capital and proper tooling can do this. Or even if one of us like Danny, myself, ed elliot or terry could take on the task.

I don't think a small one man operation could make bodies and necks cheap enough to make the venture worth while. Even though CNC equipment could do the lions share of the work, it would still require a lot of hands on to get those proper shapes. It would take some industrious entrepreneur to set up a contract with a foreign country where labor is cheap. On top of that, there just isn't that big of a following for Mosrites.

This is also what I was thinking, people that are already building the clones and are also members on this Forum. And I was thinking more along the lines of that guitar builder basically just cutting the body plank with the 'rough' German Carve started, and the neck pocket and electronics cavity started, but then, that's it. Although that's still not an easy task, the builder will not be fine sanding, sealing, finishing, buffing,etc,etc,etc. Now the customer/buyer will have the fun of finishing his/her project from there ......thoughts???

So basically you're talking about kit guitars. Doing all the rough shaping and let the customer do the rest.

I'd like to see it ... There's a couple of guys over on the Guitar ReRanch Refinishing Forum that make bodies - I think one has a CNC setup, and already makes bodies. Probably could do it for under $200, depending on the wood, and possibly necks too. One of the reasons Mosrites aren't popular, is because they're either unavailable, or way too pricey for everyman. Ever notice how they seem to sell when one is on eBay? Or CraigsList. It's like Dr Pepper - not one of the Big 2, but... put one of those out at your party with Coke or Pepsi, and see which one goes first .... I think with the exposure, Mos would sell. They just keep getting stuck in obscurity ...
