Dennis,
I now think you are correct. I looked up the interview with Semie in Tom Wheeler's 'American Guitars' book, and Semie talks about a short lived deal in '69 with Vox. This guitar must be one of the various incarnations, and like Sarah suggested, it (they) were made from left over Celebrity bodies and whatever else could be adapted. Maybe some of these alterations were later used on the early 70's guitars???

I remember seeing an interview with Erik Brann from Iron Butterfly in Guitar Player Magazine back in the late '60's, in which he described his guitar as a Mosrite that had been reworked by Vox. I've always wondered about that, as Vox never made guitars in the US. I had no idea that Semie Moseley made any Vox-branded guitars. I wonder if there are any other Mosrite models out there with the Vox brand? As I recall, by '69, Vox was in big trouble too, and probably couldn't do much to help Semie out. I suspect the deal was made with Thomas Organ, Vox's US distributor and manufacturer, rather than the parent company in England.

"A Mosrite that had been reworked by Vox" sounds more like the Vox Bulldog to me. No?
