A Mosrite Chrisrmas
Hi guy's never done this before, got some nerve and made the move to meet one of the forum members from tampa flordia. I won't tell his name because he may not want the whole world knowing who he is how ever, I can say this, we had some interesting conversations about our comon interest's guitars and music, But the hilight of the whole meeting was, I finaly got my hot little hands on a Mosrite guitar, I must say it's one sweet instrument, feels like nothing you've had in your hand before. Havent played it but the feel of the neck, and the frets on the neck are real sweet. I thank him for this opertunity. What a Christmas present. Sweet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! wish I had one

Al, if you are still in the Tampa area, you'll need to go to Mel's Hot Dogs on Busch Boulevard.
Owner and founder Mel Lohn is a musician and also a nut, but isn't that pretty much the same thing?!?!?

Re: A Mosrite Chrisrmas
Hey, Al--
I knew Mel casually back when I was an editor on the Temple Terrace Beacon newspaper, because I ate there a lot, but that was 26 years ago, and I haven't been there since! So he surely wouldn't remember me.
But at that time, Mel's was a great place to go; little more than a shack on the side of the road but great food.
Also good was Ted Peter's Smokehouse in St. Pete, which was also little more than a shack back then. They offered cheeseburgers or smoked mullet, and that was about it, but the food was just wonderful. They put a thick slice of Velveeta cheese on the burgers and it was sublime.
Other good places (more upscale): The Branch Ranch and Steve's Rustic Lodge in the Lake Thonotasassa area, and the Columbia Restaurant in Ybor City.

Re: A Mosrite Chrisrmas
If i go to all those places to eat just to see how the food is I'll look just like Veentures little friend, fat and sasy. I'm kind of getting that way now. I was informed last nite that my newly made friend didn't mind if I told who he was, so I'll tell all. His name is Surf Rider, Lives in Brandon Fl., and the Mosrite is a 1964-65 Ventures model. Jim said that he bought it brand new for 250.00 american. Its in excelent shape.
