1963 "the Ventures" Model s/n #0038Dennis,
It's been nearly three years now that you have been telling me that you are going to post some photo's of your guitars. Since it doesn't appear that it's ever going to happen, how about sending the '63 to me and I'll photograph it for you? I'll get it right back to you the first chance I get.
Seriously though, I would sure like to see photo's from every angle of that guitar as that is certainly one you don't encounter very often. Would that be the one with the muting bar on the bridge, or is that the first run of individual non roller bridge sadlles?
Also, would that be early enough to be one of the first guitars built on Panama Ln. in the metal barn, or later at the P St. factory? I have an old one page flyer that came in the case of a '64 Ventures model that I recently acquired from a family member. It depicts 'The Joe Maphis' model, which design was shortly altered to become the Ventures model. I'm guessing the flyer came new with the guitar as I remember it being in the case 'forever'. The flyer has a Rt. 6 address and an 831 prefix phone number which would be consistent with the Panama area. It's a one page flyer and I made several copies of it. Put up some photo's and I'll send you a copy.
