I would imagine that this is the natural tendency (to come out straight)I am pleased that I was able to capture the curvature of the rosewood in front of the nut area where it goes into the headstock. I never see this shape of transition on the current CNC shaped headstock. They are always shaped straight across.

Looking good and sharp Danny, wow -a nice rich slab of rosewood you've put on there.
but the curvature you have managed to get is cool. Were the first Duo Sonics always curved like yours too?

Re: Fender Duo Sonic
Well I did the routing on the body today and things did not go well. The router bit came loose and I didn't know it until it was too late. It cut a hole all the way through the body and into the top of my workbench about 1/8". Do you have any idea how PO'd I was? At any rate, two hours later I was calm enough to rout the channel smooth and fit a piece of wood into the damaged area. It's a good thing this is going to be a solid color otherwise I'd have to toss it and start over.
Now that I got the damage repaired I'm back on track. Got all the cavities routed and the 1/2" radius around the body done. So now I'll start finish sanding and tomorrow I'll cut out the pickguard.
I need to find a new hobby.
