Re: Fender Duo Sonic
Danny, what era, are you referring to the ones from the 60s, or the Chinese (Indonesia?) reissue currently being made ?

Re: Fender Duo Sonic
Danny, I don't have a Duo-Sonic, but in the 60's when I was playing in a band, there was a kid who was probably about 15 or 16, and he played a Duo-Sonic like a champ. He played in a different band than mine, but he was the fastest guitar player I ever saw in person, and played Memphis, Wham, Susie-Q pretty much note for note like Lonnie Mack.....he was small in stature, and preferred the shorter neck, but man o' man could that kid play.....
I realize that this probably didn't help you at all, but it did bring back some great memories for me, lol.........thanks!

I'd prefer something from the 60's but I settle for whatever you've got. I am going to need drawings and numerous measurements. I had a beige color 59 rosewood board model in 1960 and traded it in for my '62 Strat. It's time to build a replacement. The current MIM Squiers have a 'close enough' profile, so I could use drawings from one them, but I'm not sure about the thickness of the body. I had a contact in England that had an original 62 that he had apart to refinish. He was going to make drawings of the body, routs and pickguard. It sounded great but it's been almost a year and I haven't heard from him.

Re: Fender Duo Sonic
Danny, was the later Duo-sonic pretty much the Mustang without the trem system?

Re: Fender Duo Sonic
As I recall, the Duo-Sonic that I saw this young guy play didn't have a tremelo system....I don't think they had them, did they? At least, not in the 60's........

I think the early Duo's had the 3 way switch-craft located on the upper horn treble side, in which the later version
shared the same electronics as the Mustang (2 slide switches) located above the low E string side. And the only
difference was that the Duo' did not have the trem system, so this is probably what killed the Duo-Sonic being
that it was almost a clone of the Mustang..........
