Danny, I agree with you. Is it possable to make some rules regarding posting? Such as posts must be about Mosrite and not about other brands. This is ( The Mosrite Forum)! With a stipulation that all other posts will be deleated. I'm member # 17 I belive and have been around here a while. I have learned a lot from the great members here.I don't post a lot . But when I do I can count on the right answers from members. Where else can you get answers from professionals who use these instruments to make a living? Every morning I can be found here with my coffee. I'm sure many other members don't post very often but come here to learn about Mosrite.I think some of the builders of Mosrite style instruments on here have a lot to offer because they were there and have a lot to share about Mosrite. The posts from these people should be allowed because they offer real history and are trying to keep the Mosrite style alive be it Hallmark , Elliott, or TNM. Also, how many people even in ther 40's ever heard of Mosrite? Oh I'm sure there are a few but there are few of us old farts left that do still remember and care. I know you said it's not a money thing, but myself, and I'm sure many other members would pay a yearly membership fee to help keep this wonderfull , informative and elite forum going.

I think this forum is a great place, and the amount of reference information is vast. It came along at a great time for me as I was able to get help in pulling my Partsrite together, which otherwise would never have happened. And I've made a number of friends.

Regarding the level of conversation about Hallmark guitars, they seem to have gained the most visibility from this forum. Part of that relates to the value proposition of the guitars, but they are also the most effective in marketing. Of the current builders of Mosrite style guitars, only they and TNM have websites with any depth. M3 looks promising, but there's not much on their site. I'm glad to see that Handbrake is helping Ed Elliott put a site together. But the biggest vacuum comes from the various Mosrite brands. Fillmore has no english language website, Artie's doesn't show products, and Ed Roman is, well, Ed Roman. If the other builders want to have more conversation about their guitars, a deep website helps.

Danny, I know you continually put a lot of time into the maintenence of this site, and I know at times it's pretty thankless. But it's greatly appreciated.

I would love to see the forum stay and grow. Statistically speaking, I don't think this forum will ever have the membership of the major brands and that's fine by me. I am much more interested in quality over quantity. What I can count on when I come here is excellent, accurate information on a brand that is difficult at best to suss out. I own a lot of guitars and my Mosrite is the favorite. Not only for it's sound and playability, but for it's history. Semie's spirit remains alive in his creations. I think that is awesome. Not many guitar brands have that. I hope to add more Mosrites as time goes on.

It's no secret that I have a great passion for the Celebrity models. My website will go live in the next few weeks as I am coming close to finishing it. It's going to be a very big website. I am actually very surprised by how much information I have been able to find and organize into a format that makes sense and can be presented to people who are seeking it.

Danny, if it's okay with you I was going to ask if I could link to this forum. I think I will get lots of visitors and perhaps some of them will join.

I stop in 2-4 times a day and for sure every morning as I have my coffee and before I turn off the computer at night. I wonder if it would be helpful to have some structure to the discussions. I am absolutely convinced that there is still a ton of knowledge from the members here that has not yet been uncovered. The trick is to come up with an outline to draw that information out.

Please keep the forum going. If there is anything I can do to help, please let me know what it is and I will get on it!

Danny
I love this forum and check it at least twice a day. I'm fairly new to the forum, but find it a very useful and informative place to learn about Mosrite guitars and Semie's legacy. I'm in several car forums and I find that the frequency of posts go through cycles and I think that may what you are seeing. I still think there is lots of life left in this forum. Just want you to know I appreciate this forum and all the work you put in to make it a reality!!! :D :D :D

Well this is ironic. I've just come back to the Forum after going through a particularly bad period in which my brother passed away and I lost interest in many of the things which used to bring me enjoyment. lately however I've been getting back to my old routines and one of the first things I did was visit the Mosrite Forum to catch up on the latest news and get the old vibe back again. I'm saddened to hear we might be losing this great place and though I've never actually met any of you I would genuinely miss reading your comments and checking out the fantastic pics and vids which I'd never see anywhere else.
Danny if you decide to call it a day then all I can say is " Thanks mate, you did a bloody good job."
Bill.

I think it's been said really. The users of this board would hate to see it go, the knowledge on here is invaluable. The owner isn't satisfied the forum is going where he intended it to go.
Maybe there really ought to be some kind of restriction on the 'clonerite' (all due respect!) aspect of this forum. It is starting to look like a place for mr Shade and mr Elliot to advertise their goods. In some cases advertising has been quite blatant, it will be up to the owner of this forum and only him, to express his view on how to deal with this.
On the other hand the input both mr Shade and mr Elliot have given to the forum has been of enormous value. Their knowhow combined with the experience of seasoned users is what makes the mosriteforum the leading (only! really) forum on the subject of anything related to the Mosrite guitar. I for one would therefor hate to see them go.
I haven't been able to contribute more than a heartfelt 'wow!' and my posts have been questions mostly, for the most part because I was taught that children (n00bs) should be seen and not heard. I would very much regret the decision if it were to end this forum. I know there are still a lot of questions out there, needing answers, a lot of new guitars needing 'wows' and a lot of age related problems to be solved. So, if not for the preservation of the kowledge already here online, let's keep this forum alive for the sake of the future and preservation of these beautiful guitars.
