Our images on Photobucket etc...

Postby Veenture » Mon Feb 08, 2010 8:31 am

Question for a computer/internet techie...

are my images on Photobucket still there in the event my computer crashes and all the data on my hard disc is lost or destroyed? (heaven forbid). Browsing through the Forum I sometimes come across images that are no longer there, which makes me wonder... :?

Hey!

They are on PB's server once you upload them, so you are fine!

I back all mine up on a flash drive. Inexpensive way to store a lot of pix. And you can put them in a safe place to keep them.

Thanks guys, that's one little worry taken care of :)
Now I feel safe to go ahead and delete any images on my computer when I no longer have a need for them to be there ;)

Hey Paul,

Something you might want to look into is a website called http://www.carbonite.com. They back up all the files on your computer so if your computer crashes, you files are okay. I think it's really cheap too. Something like 50 bucks for a whole year. I have never tried them, but I hear the radio commercial all the time, and I know a few people that uses it.

Interesting Aaron, thanks for the tip; like renting a storage space for your furniture etc. outside of your house ;)
The most important data (for myself) is always saved onto my memory stick of 4GB...much more capacity than many a desktop computer of the day and more than enough for my humble requirements :)
