Hey!?!?! Who Peed On My Guitar?!?!?!?!

Postby oipunkguy » Wed Jan 06, 2010 11:00 am

Lol. I bet you guys never thought you would have seen this thread pop up. Some people are always searching for new ways to age pick guards and other plastic parts, pickup covers, knobs etc. These things are usually quite easy using a rich mixer of coffee of tea, but pick guards sometimes are harder to do, particularly if the guard is made of vinyl.
So what's the answer? PEE ON IT!!!! Apparently it is true that soaking a pick guard in pee for several days will "age" the plastic. However your guard might be a little stinky. Maybe a good soaking of bleach would be in order after the aging is done ;)

...Farther testing will be required however, to see if asparagus helps in the aging process...

Have a nice day guys. :D
Cheers,
Aaron

LOL :D ...mind you, I'd be pretty pee'd off to have to discover my "Vintage" was created in this way. Hey, maybe an idea for Fender to add to their line of "Road Worn" and "Custom Reliced" guitars; how about "Rest Room Relics"

Hate to break it to you, Sarah, but urea is a common ingredient in nuts, saddles and hide glue. You probably have it in some of your guitars already.

Adam is right. It is often the protein in "protein-enriched" shampoos and conditioners, it's in many dish and facial soaps, and is sometimes used as a browning agents in pretzels. Also used in many whitening toothpastes and as a flavor enhancer in cigarettes.

YUUUUUCH!!!
