Just browsing Youtube I came across this Collins Kids video. Looks like their late 20's or so. Here's Larry with a doubleneck that I've never seen before. I'm going to have to ask him about this. - Terry
I never saw this one before?

Re: I never saw this one before?
Wow, that's one crazy guitar! And a cool song to boot!
It's funny, growing up in New York in the late 70s and 80s, I had a very distinct impression of country/western music being either saccharine dreck from Nashville or hokey plodding songs about lost love and pickup trucks. While I was already aware there's more to it than that before this forum, the 50s/60s Mosrite slingers from the west coast are particularly eye openning. I guess country/western and rock and roll really didn't start to diverge until rock when psychedelic and c&w got into its pickup and drove off.

I almost forgot to look at the guitar, I was so blown away by the guitar playing. I've wanted to sing well and play hard guitar parts at the same time but dang, I never thought anything like this could be possible. Sounds good too, No wonder Mosrite's speed frets were loved for this style of music. Anyway, Nice Mosrite guitar. Notice the horn on the upper side is bigger than the lower horn?

Terry,
Any thoughts about Lorrie's guitar?? Looks like it says Gibson on the Headstock, but it sure looks like Semie may of had something to do with that Pickguard of hers....
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

Larry apparently played this thing all over this TV series. The show ran from 64-66/67, depending on who's telling... The singing appears to be live, the playing is not however.
If there were ever a doubleneck that I'd want, it'd be this on for sure!

A lot of C&W is seriously beautiful and soulful music, and there's actually a lot more hot guitar in Country than in Rock and Roll. There's plenty of bad C&W out there, but that goes for any musical genre - do some digging and find out for yourself, you'll love a lot of what you'll find!
Terry - cool find, and I'd love to hear the story of that one as well!!!
