Yes, the experience of dealing with Mr. Shade has easily been the best I have encountered in my 40 plus years of guitar buying/trading. He is a breath of fresh air in what is sometimes a cut-throat business. The fact that he delivered an exceptional instrument makes the experience all that more remarkable. While I don't currently own a Mosrite, I respect that brand as much as anyone who does, and Bob's effort to deliver such a tribute as the 60 Custom (and soon the 59) is something that we all should respect for just what it is. Love and admiration of Semie's creation.
As far as my original thread, this is GP's loss and our gain.

If Deke weren't on tour, maybe he could add to this conversation - as he was a contributing writer for GP. Don't know if he still writes for them or not - I stopped getting it when everything went down the "shredmeister" path ...

Nope. 'Can't ever remember seeing a real Mosrite or known-clone review in GP USA or Vintage guitar.
But as said eloquently above, that's more than a little hip. Digging a non-mainstream "underground" guitar is rather fun.

Too true. When I saw the review I mentioned earler I was immediately worried that everyone would be using them and they'd eventually be nothing unique. However that didn't occur and our little place in the guitar world is still safe and cosy.
Bill.

I agree that GP magazine has gone more the route of the "shredmeisters". I cancelled my subscription years ago. In fact the only guitar mag. I still subscribe to is Vintage Guitar. If anyone was to ever write a review about Hallmark, etc., that's probably where you would find it -as they write lots of stuff about Mosrite, Ventures, surf music, etc.
