While playing, the volume suddenly begins to fade. I suspect the input jack. Anyone have this issue?

Does this happen with a different amp?

Does it happen in the same amp with a different guitar?

First, Greg has good questions that could help us determine what's happening here.

It's not clear what's causing the problem to me, either. Yes, perhaps the output jack on your guitar (not input, that would be on your amp) needs re-soldered.

On the other hand, perhaps you need to clean the volume and tone pots out with some Electronics Cleaner. Guitars need that every so many years (depending on how much use they get,) and you typically need to take the pickguard off and then put a thick enough disposable rag or towel down to catch the cleaner that comes out of the pot while you spray, and then after you turn the knob(s) after spraying.

Even if neither of these suggested ideas work, they may still help another issue you've been having. Another idea is simply that your guitar cable is starting to go defective.
