Clone of the Mosrite Combo 6, Noble branded from Japan

Someone nearby has one of these, with the single f-hole, claims it's a late 60s example made in Japan. He owns a number of actual Mosrites, says this one plays and sounds as good as any.

I've heard of Don Noble, the midwest importer active at that time, but have never heard of this guitar. Has anyone here seen or played one? Thanks.

Michael,
Actually, the Noble looks more like an upside down version of the Combo. The Combo looks a lot like the Ventures Model,
only with shorter horns, and the Body is Semi Hollow. But the offset on the Noble is going the opposite direction of a Combo.
The ONLY PIC I could find was not very helpful, and I could not expand the size of the pic, but hopefully this will help you out. The First Pic is of the Noble.....

And the Second Pic is of the Combo (on the left side)

I found these photo's on Craigslist. The seller say's it a '69 MIJ Mosrite Noble. Man, these are strange looking.

"Ca. 1950-ca1969. Instruments made by others and distributed by 'Don Noble and Company' of Chicago. By ca. '65-'66 the brand name is now bought and owned by 'Strum and Drum' in which now, are importing Japanese made instruments. 'Strum and Drum' buys the 'National' Brand in '69 and begins importing Japanese copies of American designs under the 'National' brand and Japanese originals under the 'Norma' brand through the early 70s. The 'Noble' brand disappears at least by the advent of the Japanese 'National' brand, if not before".......Info courtesy of "the Official Vintage Guitar PRICE GUIDE" from 2005 on page #164, only because my buddy's got my '08 Guide  .
