Hey gang, our fellow forum member pauliventura (the other Dutch Paul!) has asked me to post some pics of his nice Mosrite Celebrity / Avenger – Japan, which he recently owns as a result of a trade-in. He reckons I’m good at posting pictures, heh heh

First of all Paul, congratulations, she looks great!

Paul would love to gain some more knowledge from you Celeb-guru’s on the board: what type, -year, manufacturer [Firstman, methinks], rarity factor etc. He did not provide me with a serial number (if there is one at all) or any additional info, besides the photo’s themselves. Very cool Paul! I would love to study these guitars in more depth. Is it possible to get a bunch of photos of this one. Hi-res would be most desirable. I'd love to have front, back, and as many close ups of the details as your friend is willing to share.

I notice that this one has a Bigsby vibrato instead of a Moseley type. This one does not have the control plate that is one the one we previous talked about. The pickup selector switch is on the treble side horn whereas the other example had it on the control plate with the knobs. This one has the side jack input whereas the other one had it located on the control plate as well. The back plate on this one is a four screw mount whereas the other one was a two screw mounted plate. The fret markers are much larger on this one that on the previous one. And, lastly, the upper strap pin is on the bass side horn whereas the other one had it behind the neck joint.

So, lots of differences between these two Avenger models. I will send you a PM with my email address in hopes that your friend will share lots of photos. One way to date this guitar is to have a look at the pot codes which, in this case, would take a bit more work to access.

Now that is just a striking looking guitar! Definitely in the top 5 coolest celebrities I've seen.
