does fillmore have a webiste?
Sorry if this is a hamster dance, but does Fillmore have a website? Or is there somewhere you guys know of that I can actually look at pictures of all the reissues available? And prices? I have no real idea what these things cost (nor do I know what a vintage is worth or going for) . . . I'm thinking of getting a Ventures I with the tremolo bridge. Thanks in advance!

Re: does fillmore have a webiste?
Not trying to sell anybody anything...but down the rocky and narrow road of my own (belated ) search for a Ventures I type Mosrite guitar I happened to discover a much needed 'pitstop' called Hallmark Guitars. Now there's a friendly site for you. Not Mosrite but...take a look yourself... anyway

I'm very content with my Hallmark 60 Custom Sunburst BTW and a real Mosrite or a "Dana" Mosrite from Front Porch Music is still on my wants list. And if I win the jackpot I'll be knocking on Eddie Elliot's door also -to begin with...

Hi there Don ,
I see it says 'our english pages are being developed' or something similar, but I don't
know how to tell how old that is.
My suggestion is to browse the prices on the mosrite section at kurosawa .. they have most of the fillmore
range up on their website , in english too!
Here's a linkee ...
http://www.kurosawagakki.com/
have a look in their Electric Guitars under mosrite .. I used a yen to UK pounds converter to figure out the prices.
Nice pictures .. guitar porn jv
Three types .... Made in California , Made in Japan , Made in USA ... three different price points.

Last. I've have owned Original Mosrite's but I couldn't be more pleased with my Hallmark 60 Custom. I would take it over the originals because the neck & frets are more user friendly and it has the sounds and costs a fraction of what they cost now. Really unless your buying a vintage Mosrite, Hallmark is a great choice because all the rest of the guitars are just clones also.

.....................yeah, but they don't say Mosrite on the headstock.
The Hallmark 60s are great guitars but they are a close clone/copy, that's where it ends. The new Fillmore Mosrites are exact replicas in every detail. I use to feel that if it didn't have Semies DNA on it, it wasn't a real Mosrite. I don't think you will find Leo's DNA on any of the new Fenders either but they are still 'real' Fenders. Right? There are lot's of copies of Strats made by various makers but the only real Fenders are the ones that say Fender on them. The Mosrites whether made in USA or Japan will continue to bring a premium price simply because they say Mosrite.

I agree totally.
Withn all due respect to other brands, for me it has to say Mosrite on the headstock.
Mind you I wouldn't knock back any reasoable copy if I came across one.

Hey, Mosritians--
Danny's point is well taken, and it brings into focus something I have been pondering for a few days, after spending an enjoyable month reading as much of this very informative forum as I could.
An old teacher of mine used to stress: "Let's define our terms!"
With that in mind, we might find it useful to define several terms or categories to describe the various Mosrites and clones that are out there, and, as far as possible, to place the known examples into these categories.
For example, there are the Semie-made Mosrites, the Semie-made Gospels, the current "officially branded" Mosrites made in whatever country, the dead-on Mosrite copies made over the years, the Mosrite-inspired guitars, and so on. There are also non-Mosrite-style guitars made by Semie in his early days. There are guitars assembled of Mosrite parts by former employees of Mosrite and there are fake Semie-made Mosrites created with evil intent.
It is very complex, true, but it is also finite, and can be defined. It will take someone with a great deal of knowledge and judgement, and it may be better handled by a small group of such experts. The intent wouldn't be to get into some legal wrangle, but to make these issues and guitars easier to understand for all interested in the guitars and the brand.
It might be enlightening to see such a project. And I bet there is no more worthy place to have such an effort than this forum. The amount of knowledge on this forum is astonishing.
Danny, what do you think of this idea?
