On the top is a Kurokumo made from the late '90s to the present. On the bottom is a Fillmore produced briefly a couple years back.

Something's funny about the top one. It looks smaller than it should.

The 'Funny' one on the top was the Japanese Copy of the last gasp
attempt of the '91-'92 USA Version from Booneville Arkansas ;)
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.

That one on the bottom looks nothing like a Mosrite except for the headstock. The top one, Well, Reissue. Smaller but good enough.
1966 Ventures II (German Carved, B670.)
1970s "Not a Blues Bender" Bodies: 2.
1976 Brass Rail Deluxe #10.
2013 Fender Pawn Shop Bass VI.

The actual Semie made Combos had the one piece (vibramute type) vibrato (like the Japanese copy on top), only on the earliest examples. He then switched to the 2 piece type, like on the Celebrities. By far, most original Combos you find will have the 2 piece, which IMHO is not near as cool as the one piece. To my knowledge, I don't think Semie ever put the Ventures logo on a Combo, although I've seen many pictures of them playing them.

I've owned several original Combos -they are one of Semie's coolest creations, and are underrated by collectors.

I agree the Combo is the a great guitar totally underrated. I have a price list from the Booneville days the jumbo Combo is the most expensive guitar coming in at 4 grand if I remember right.. dare I say the top of the line?
Now as for New Combo I'm glad it is no longer made as it is a affront to Semie's legacy.
Thanks for the info adam
