Wondering, would a fuzzy bass sound any good? Has anyone tried it out?

I don't know about that. It just might make sort of a rude noise. ;)

Hey--

After hearing the Beatles' "Think for Yourself" with Paul on fuzz bass, we all did it back in the 1960s.

Sounded cool for a couple of songs with an active bass line. Back then, I was accused more than once of playing lead bass. Not so much nowadays.

I just YouTube'd that song. It sounds great with the fuzz. Now to figure out which pedal will work best with it. Jim, which pedal did (do) you use?

Hey!

Seems to me it was a Fuzzrite, borrowed from the lead guitar player. I was using an EB-0 bass back then, and then switched to one of those purple Ampeg basses with the cutouts, whatever they are called. We're talking 1969-'71.

This was before I had my Mosrite bass.

Yes it would. Try a black Sovtek Big Muff.
Then check out the "Nadine" cover by 60's Dallas band Southwest F.O.B., it has great bass fuzz.

yeah, of course it can sound good, and depends on the production, and the song. sometimes it's better just for one part ya know? like a bridge to a song, or a chorus for example. when recording distorted tracks, my band would always run two amps with one guitar (or bass), and make one amp a lot cleaner, so later you could mix both signals together. that way you dont loose the focus when adding distortion.

Hello Captain Thunder!
I just posted a tune I did with my Mosrite guitar and bass that both have Fuzzrite on them.
(Good or bad, if you like it, that's up to the listener!) I had fun with it!
Like oipunkguy said it's depends on the production.

Hope it helps!
