I guess I never knew about this before...does anybody here on the forum know the story behind the Mosrite-made "Guild Foxey Lady" fuzz pedals?

I did a search and saw that the Foxey Lady pedal has been discussed a little bit on the forum, but not much.

The thing I find interesting is that Guild used Mosrite to manufacture something nearly 6-7 years after the failed Guild Vibromute attempt. There must be some backstory there; Semie must have known Alfred Dronge, the president of Guild.

If anybody knows, educate us!

Hey Deke, As you may suppose after the Dronge family owner of Guild had Semie try to create a new vibrato for them in 63, ultimately Guild turned down the project and Semie ground off the Guild logo in the Guild harp interior of the plate and used them on Mosrite guitars with Guild harp still in the base plate! Semie and Al Dronge kept in touch and still seemed to have a mutual respect especially after Mosrite hit it big with the Ventures model. Semie was actually flown in to the Guild factory at one point to help Guild with their polyester finishes, as Semie had already gone through the process and knew just how to do it right.

Getting to the point,when the Mosrite Fuzzrite and other fuzzboxes became the "new sound" and manufacturers were making a good profit from these little buzz boxes, Guild's Al Dronge contacted Semie and asked if he could place an order for a run with the Guild moniker on the box. The answer was obviously yes and the Foxy Lady fuzz is exactly the same as the Mosrite fuzzrite down to the silicone circuit inside reading "Mosrite" So, having pointed that out, these would have been in the later runs of Fuzzrites when Ed Sanner had discontinued the use of the germanium parts. I have seen these GFL boxes show up on Ebay from time to time, and they are the real deal. Another part of the small but never the less interesting Mosrite/Guild connection Semie had with Al Dronge.

I don't know any more of the backstory than already mentioned, but I can post some nice pics of mine if you like.
1968 Guild Foxey Lady / Fuzzrite with the Sprague module (dated from the pot codes) on the left.
The other two are an EHX Axis fuzz (w/ 2N5133 trannies; can't find a date anywhere, most likely 69/70 ish?) and a Ram's Head Big Muff (w/ FS36999 trannies; pot codes are from 1978, which doesn't seem quite right, and they're round shaft, so most likely replacements)

I'veseen two different Sprague modules labelled "68 18" and "68 28" with "Mosrite" written below it. Any idea of the significance of the numbers? Two batches?
