Hello all,
I just got my first vintage Mosrite Ventures Bass! (1965 Candy Apple Red) I have some short scale Rotosounds strings but they are too short, so it's obvious that I need medium scale (right?). I'm thinking that a light set, 95-40 would sound good. What do you guys use? Thanks, Jim.
Ventures Bass strings, what scale, what guage do you like?

When I was buying strings in the 60's I would choose from whatever was available at the local music store. Long scale strings will most likely fit. 40-90 or 45-100 or 105 should work OK. I don't recall what the original strings were on the bass but I always used either flatwound or nylon tape wound strings.

I like Medium Scale (31"-32") GHS Brite Flats, .049-.108. I get them from www.juststrings.com
