Lost opportunity or...

Several weeks ago, at an instruments-in-general show in metro Chicago, there was a beat to **** '66 or so Celebrity for about $1300.
Looked at it, fingered it, needed refret, back of neck had gobs of dings, some corrosion, rust, many finish issues..."fair" condition at best.
Was a bargain passed up or...?

If it was that beat up it was probably best to let it pass by. For $1,300 you should be able to pick up a Celebrity-I, Celebrity-II's and -III's for less. Photos and a serial number would help out a lot to figure the value.

From what I've seen lately, with a bit a patience you can get a pretty darn nice one for that kind of money.

I agree. I don't care if it's the Rolls-Royce of guitars, if it's wrecked, it's junk.

Now that's a big compliment to Rolls-Royce!
