"Diamond Army Green"; so that's what it's called. :D

Would appreciate finding out about your 88 models from a player's perspective. Don't hear much about them and they look like a sporty take on a Mark 1.

The official color is "Diamond Money Green", and I can tell you if I was only allowed one guitar the rest of my life, the M88 would be it! The neck is rounded a bit more than most mosrites. Same string spacing, but thicker! So it fits in the pocket of my palm sooooo nice. This equals less effort to dig in! The frets are still low pro, but they are much wider than any other mosrite I have ever seen or played(and that's a lot! LOL) They almost look like a bass fret. The sound is unmistakable! There is something special about this series. When ever I sit down with it I just want to keep on playin'. It is hands down THE most comfortable guitar I have ever played! I also like the position of the PUP selector switch by the knobs! Keeps it out of ANY strum pattern. I will put up a sound clip shortly if you would like? Feel free to ask any questions. I enjoy talking about this subject very much!

Yes, We would appreciate a sound clip very much! As I stated earlier, I am curious about the 88 models but don't find much information about them. What is the difference between the M88 and V88 models?

Cool pics there! I just played a 100% mint (looks like it never has been played) 1986 Mosrite. That one looks a lot like the M88 and also have that chunky neck and wide(r) fretboard. Since it was so NOS the vibro worked the best I've tried so far on Mosrites. Really firm and solid.

I find the sound a bit chunkier as well with a little less twang. Still, I really like this one and would have bought it instantly if I had the cash right now. Also has the 'semie' autograph on the back. And the pup-covers/M-logo points in the other direction ;-)...

Were these guitars bulid in Jonas Ridge, NC. Anyone know why the design chances were made?

someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the V88 models is the traditional ventures style mosrite with the german curves and pickguard, and the M88 is like these. Ron, have you owned any V88 models? It would be interesting to see if Semie made any with maple fret boards.
great pics by the way.

You would be correct on the visual difference. No pick guard, no carve, maple neck/fretboard, and displaced toggle switch. I have owned 2 V88's. a Sunburst that I bought in '91, and the Diamond Ruby Red one in the pics. I have never seen a V88 with a maple neck, though you can see in the one pic my bass player(also my dad) has an 80's mosrite bass with a maple board. I know the "Nokie" model has the carve, guard, and maple board. I have one of those that Curtis Muldoon put together for me.

I will get that sound clip up this weekend. They are just out of this world!

So the purple guitar in the above picture is a V88 with a maple fretboard?

Look forward to the soundclips. Also, don't be shy with those pictures.
