Found free guitar in trash, Need help appraising it.
I picked up this Mosrite Guitar in its case on the side of the road during a fall clean up day in our town. The serial number is V0389 It is not im great condition. The plastic around the neck is very brittle and has cracks and the paint on the main body is cracked and chipped in a few places, also the lever is broken off at the end. Im no expert on guitars but from what little I have researched this could be worth some money to someone. Thank you in advance for your help.

Great find! At a quick glance it looks like it's all original except the replaced bridge. It would be worthy of a good cleanup. You should be able to get a replacement bridge and vibrato arm from Bob Shade at hallmark Guitars. Wonder why it was discarded in the trash? It does have a decent value even if the electronics aren't working. Have you played it?

Never played it. To be honest I dont know the first thing about guitars. Who knows why some people throw away the things they do. It could be someone past away and thier relatives were just cleaning out thier house and knew nothing of the value of the items. But my hobby is going to garage sales/estate sales and picking up free things thrown out by others. I love finding unique items that you could never by in a store. I do live the look of this guitar but it should be with someone who will appreciate it and play it. Since I dont know the proper way to clean and fix it I dont want to mess it up, I will leave that to a professional.

In pristine condition the guitar you have could be worth $1500 plus dollars to someone looking for a later vintage Mosrite. Naturally in it's current condition and not knowing if the electronics work, the neck being warped or a multitude of other problems then the value may only be in parts. I'd say take it to a guitar shop and see what they would give for it as is. I may be interested, where are you located?
