Hello All,
A bit about myself, little over 50yrs old and been strumming
the guitar for many years just for fun around the house. I'm
hoping to pick up a Mosrite clone before Christmas should
all the stars align {and the overtime holds}. I found out about
this forum from over at Surf Guitar 101, over there I'm MrBill
seeing you already had one I went with Bill Mc, but I have
the same avatar. I have a few electric guitars, closest to a
Mosrite would be my Danelectro Hodad{not real close I know}.
Any how looks like lots of great info here. Here is a photo of my Dano.
Cheers.

Welcome, Bill. How does that Danelectro play and sound? I've seen that model on eBay.

Hello Austin,
Well the Hodad is the Flagship of the Danelectro line.
That's really not sayin much but it is a real comfortable
guitar to play, thinish neck and 1.650 at the nut. Soundwise
it has pretty neat tone that cries for reverb. More substantial tone
than most Dans cause it has 4 lipstick pickups. It also sports a coil tap
and in/out of phase. It stays in tune well with it's fake Bigsby, Gotoh tuners
and a graph tech nut. The Danelectro is just great little guitar, but the body
being made of plywood and masonite I wouln't think it could tolerate much abuse.
I like em but many don't, if I lost it would I replace it? Definitly but some of the pricing
I've seen is out of line. Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Welcome Bill to the Mo' Camp. I've played a Hodad, and for the money, you can't beat them. However, like the one
liner that was said in the movie "GREMLINS"........... "Don't let it get near water."

Welcome to the forum, Bill. I used to have a Hodad, too. The coil tap and phase switches give them a wide sonic spectrum.

Thanks, Bill! I'll definitely try one out if I see one. Sounds like a good guitar, Maybe a good modding job too. I wonder how one of these would look in orange?

Greetings and welcome to the forum. Thanks for posting that pic - I've never actually seen one of those before. Enjoy your time here and be sure to check out Hallmark guitars (if you haven't already).
