New Guy

Hello all. I'm a new guy around here. I've been playing since the late 1970's and own two Mosrites- a post-Ventures-Ventures, and a Mark V Ventures, and a bunch of other Mosrite copies or Mosrite-inspired instruments. I've played many different styles of music along the way, but gravitate towards surf, garage, and power-pop. I registered here last year, but I guess I never posted an introduction, so my account expired. Ooops! It's good to be here now, though!

Welcome, Tommy, to the forum. Among your Mosrites and clones, what's your favorite player guitar?

Wow, this is a friendly bunch! Thanks for all of the warm welcomes!

GattonFan- I have a few Univox High Fliers which really don't see much action. I also have a couple of Mosrite-inspired Teisco K-2L's, which are cool, but again, don't get a whole lot of use. Another Teisco that I own is a Spectrum V (it has, like, 72 blend-o-matic switches, split pickups, and a great German Carve), which is a really cool guitar that I would use a lot, but it needs a couple of parts. I have a Vox Bulldog that I like a lot; again, not a direct copy- more "inspired by", but a really comfortable guitar to play. The guy who owned it before me played in a band called "Smashing Orange", and they went through a garage phase, so he had the original pickups removed and replaced them with a single SD chrome-covered P90. Believe it or not, it sounds pretty good. The las Mosrite-ish guitar I own (I think...) is something a late friend of mine and I collaborated on- we called them "Universal" guitars. They can be seen on the http://www.haxtyguitars.com website under "For Sale", even though they're not really "for sale" (I own the Red double pickup one, the other is owned by my friend's family). I guess after the real Mosrites, I probably play the Vox the most, and then the Universal.

DubTrub- As soon as I'm comfortable navigating through the forum, I'll be sure to post if I have anything constructive to contribute.

101Volts- I initially heard of the forum through the SG101 forum last year. I ran across it again this week when I was Googling Mosrite Fuzzrites. I'm glad I found it again- it's a great forum with loads of information.

MWaldorf- I did used to play in a little east coast combo. The bandleader moved back out west, though; I heard he found himself an amazing guitar player, and the west coast version of the band enjoyed great success out there! ;)

EFElliot and Veenture- Thanks again for the welcome!

I'll be sure to check in regularly!
