and have you know that John Fogerty used the melody from "I'm Left, You're Right, She's Gone" from Scotty Moore/Elvis for bad moon rising? Great "Cover" ;D

Hmmmm, well, I certainly know the tune, have even played it, but never made the connection. Guess I'll have to revisit. John has admitted to "borrowing" certain licks from "Walkin' the Dog" and another (which escapes me right now) for "Green River." But then, I hear licks that have obvious origins from other songs in all genres. Which brings up an interesting "note"...remember when John was sued by his former CCR label Fantasy for sounding too much like himself on "The Old Man is Down the Road"? In court John played licks from early blues on to the present to demonstrate how songs can differ and evolve though sounding similar. John won the case...and many musicians gave a sigh of relief!
