here's a clip of some jamming on the Hallmark, as you can hear, it's pretty versatile, and has a good overdriven tone. I think I'm playing either a Fulltone Fulldrive 2 or a Rat, but either way, it's a great guitar. I think I still had 10's on it, now I have 9's and even lower action.

Cool demo! Those things sound great, don't they! I have a Surf Pearl one which I like a lot, but seeing your clip almost makes me wish I'd gotten that Sunset Sparkleburst--it looks great! (Actually, I had already ordered a sunburst one when the Surf Pearl was announced--Bob Shade was nice enough to change the order for me, although I was also leaning toward the Pearl White. Can't have 'em all, I guess--not on my budget, anyway!

I got lucky as Bob only had a couple of bursts left, so I pondered for a day or two, sunset or fire sparkle? Thought I had made my mind up for Fire Sparkle but he didn't have one left so this was it, I really couldn't decide so it was good, and now the colour just grew on me.

I'm not sure I could sell her, I had a thought of getting a japanese mosrite and refinishing it like this, or a Jaguar! I hear it was inspired by some custom Mosrite finishes in the 60's!

gullyver is a joy to play on this guitar, good you can't see my face! Don't get me started, I got loads of videos of trying to cop that Ventures live sound with this guitar, but still not there, need a fuzz!

Thanks for posting with your Hallmark! It is always nice to hear some distorted tones too. I see what you are saying about the fret buzz, i would raise the bridge back up a tad and try again.

By the way, we are re-issuing the NU FUZZ in January! Hold tight on a fuzz, these are to dye for.

thanks Bob, I haven't gotten around to fixing it yet, was gonna do it today but decided to hold off, I'll raise the bridge a bit, but it doesn't bother me too much. Could you hear the fretbuzz, it seems to me it's more unplugged although it may affect the sustain a bit...i'm sure I'll fix it, and it still sounds good.

I really like the sound of the hallmark distorted, without too much distortion it can get quite crisp, I'm sure I could pull off a gnr rehearsal with the right pedal.

Could you please give me a bit more info on the fuzz? Will it be a clone of an existing one? I'm kinda of thinking of getting a MojoTone One Ton Bee, but I'd rather have a Hallmark connection. Please do let me know as soon as you know more about it, I really want to get a fuzz.

btw, if any of you have a Mosrite, how would it react to such an overdrive, would it feedback a lot? Undefined or squealy?

I know the Hallmark pickups are better for handing distortion but I wonder in which way, as they sound kind of overdriven already

Have you measured the relief of the neck? Proper relief has a lot to do with string buzz.

yes, i have, i'm not sure how much it has exactly but it seems it should be enough, i can clearly see a space when fretting at the 1st and holding where the neck joins the body
