I had the chance to see Deke Dickerson with the Modern Sounds tonight in San Jose. I strongly recommend anyone who can to see him play live.

Dang! Does that guy ever get a day off???? I'd sure love to see the show. I hope he makes a SoCal appearance.

Hi Sarah...Deke plays at Yolie's every couple of months in Ventura. He just played there a couple of weeks ago. It's through Hi-Hat Entertainment.... local Ventura outfit (Google it)
Hi-Hat does some great shows....Albert Lee (yes...Albert Lee) and Pete Anderson play there regularly too. It' a little mexican food place off Ventura Ave and Main....they have been doing shows there a while. Nice place to see a show. Stage, dance floor. Small room.

And I just heard some solid confirmed news that Deke is playing in Copenhagen on June 4th. Way to go, Deke! Looking forward to it.

Saw Deke and the Sounds last night. Great show! We all know what a superb guitarplayer Deke is so for me last nights big surprise was how amazing Joel from the Modern Sounds plays with the rest of the band. Wow! That guy knows his guitar history and got tons of different sounds out of just plugging his '56 Gibson hollowbody into a Fender Blues Deluxe. Also his lab-steel skills are excellent.

I would love that! Yolies has a great salsa bar there.
