I'm a new one 4 this forum, but I'm envolved in guitars till 80,s ,I didn't know how much there was the prices of the Mosrite in the past ,but I can say that in my country(Italy) everything is going up:
I bought a 65 Jazzmaster in1998 at 4 million lira(at that time),now after 10 years the price is 3500-4000 euros, and the rare Mosrites you can find are priced very high,2900-4500-it depend from the years,so the market goes.
I have to say that I prefere to play an old guitar, first 4 the feeling of the neck without the laquer, and a ...weight of real wood!
don't know nothing about Mosrites, only Ventures and the Johnny Ramone guitar(I made the security 4 them in Italy and had time to talk to him about his guitar,he gave me some plectrum!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
so,I just go crazy about this guitar and I must have one....a reissue mij(japanese are the perfect workers, like in motorbikes,cars...not spectacular, but ..good.
so my Ranger model will come, ther was a "of classic" used one in Italy, but they ask more than a brand new Ranger in England.
I can't wait since I saw another great Mosrite in action at the summerfestival-surf-in Livorno-Italy,played from the finnish band "the Charades",listen to them, they're great !Bruno

That can be said about Finland as well. With Mosrites the used guitar market is practically non-existing, and nobody imports new ones to Finland at the moment. I just landed a pretty decent deal with my Ranger, whereas sometimes the asking prices are very high. But when there's no supply, and still some demand, the prices tend to rise.

Yes, we listen to them :D I personally prefer their older albums. I could go on about their equipment, but I think I'll leave that one to TripleJ...

P.S. I just sent a friend request to The Wet-Tones in MySpace.

Yeah, or actually there were two of them. Their original lead guitarist was Hannu Könönen who now plays with The Nightcreepers ( http://www.thenightcreepers.net/ ). The former rhythm guitar player was Marko Rahikainen, he is now a member of The Mustangs ( http://www.myspace.com/mustangsthe ). The Mustangs are a very legendary long-time rautalanka band, but unfortunately they haven't been very active lately.

Rahikainen was also a member of The Surf Wipes, in which TripleJ played the lead guitar.
