New Name for Band

Postby Dennisthe Menace » Mon Jun 15, 2009 10:46 am

Hey Gang,

We are looking for a new name for our group. The VR-4 name (Vintage Rock w/4 members) ain't going to cut it with the addition of 2 more members (6).
And we are looking for a comical, wacked out type name that people would laugh at and won't forget either. But I wanted to see what you guys thought.
The name we are playing with has nothing to do with music, band, etc. which we think might make it a perfectly 'off the wall.' Our Bass Player Pauly
came up with this, and when he told me the name, I almost fell out of my chair. We are looking for a totally ridiculous, stupid, wacked out, and funny
type of name all at the same. Let me know what you think...... ;)

.............Name of Group:............
"WILD ELEPHANTS in COMBAT."
make the Mos' of it, choose the 'rite stuff.
.........Owner of 9 Mosrites...
.....proud owner and documented:
1963 "the Ventures" Model s/n #0038

How about the 'Over the Hill Gang'? Not funny but I've always considered the name of 'Day's Gone By' as one of my favorites for the name of a 60s, 70s & 80s cover band.

Danny, we have a band here in town that uses that very name. I played in it when it first started but the music was just to old for me.It was started by a man that had a great band back in the 50's and 60's. He also had a song in the country charts that made it to #7. but by then the band was about done. My cousin wrote the song ( No Love Have I ) and he passed away just before it started to hit the charts. Oh ya the mans name is Tex Roe and he has also passed away now. The band still goes on, although none of the original members are there now.

I have always thought a great name would be,,,,,,,,, Free Beer,,,,,,,,,,,,, it would get people in and then it would be up to you to keep them there. LOL Good luck with the name.

OK, how's this for tangential?

VR-4 to VR-IV to V-RIV to V-Rivieras, to "Vintage Rivieras" to "Retro Rivieras"? :?: :?: :!: :?:

PS. I like Aftermath of Mosrite, too.

I've been stewing on this for a week, but the only band name I can think of is a Beatles-inspired "Aural Together Now".
