Had one like it a hundred years ago, but still got my current one. ;)

I thought you might like it. I wish I could build my first guitar, a 71 tele deluxe.

I haven't played the Duo Sonic very much until recently. I've been having some health issues and found that it is a perfect couch/bed guitar. It's small and light enough to make a comfortable guitar for lying flat on my back. With the Champ amp and a FRV-1 reverb pedal I can keep up my surf licks.

BTW, Squier makes a real nice Tele Deluxe. ;)

Hey, glad to hear the Duo Sonic is getting some pickin' time, though I wish it were under better circumstances.

I've played Danny's Duo and it's a great little guitar!

By appearance it looks as though it may sound somewhere between the Tele, and the Strat. Would that assumption be close.

I used some old grey bottom Strat p'ups of unknown origin that I had since the late eighties. I pressed the (non staggered) magnet slugs flush with the top of the bobbin and used white smooth covers which I painted chocolate brown with Krylon plastic paint. Sound is somewhere between a Strat and (?), sounding just like, well, a...........................................Duosonic. :)

I have a Telecaster and it is a lot brighter and robust sounding than the Duo. Actually I think it still has more of a mini Strat sound. The p'ups are pretty much the same as the original Duo's were made.

Hre's a link to the original build topic. viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2914
