I saw on eBay some of the CIJ (Crafted in Japan) Jazzmaster are marked "P" Series, some "R" or "S" Series. Anyone knows what's the difference? Are these just different lot number or different type? One of the seller specifies "R series". It must mean something.
Couldn't find these out on Google.

I believe it indicates the dates of manufacture .
Jazzmasters are no longer imported from Japan as they are now being made at the Ensenada Mexico factory.
