Hey Eltuce,
Wow, I didn't expect that kind of direct Mosrite-Mouradian connection when I posted this. Semie & Jim having lunch together!
I put these guitars together for this image post (knowing it is a Topic Category for Mosrites and not other guitars; don't want to break the rules) because when I look at both these guitar models and think of the men who are (Jim)/were (Semie) true masters of their craft, I see creative and distinctive commonalities.
With regard to this 1971 VI #V0231, it has the original "diamond shaped" Japanese tuners, I do have the trem arm, but took it off way back in 1981, because we were playing Punk and it got in the way of the aggressive (Ramones-type) playing and I never put it back on, and it does have sunburst on the sides of the headstock. I bought it in Chelmsford MA, of all places, in 1981 for $250; when everyone else only wanted to play Charvels & Jacksons, etc. (We know what those are worth today). This guitar slayed them all, and still does.
Alan.
