OK, but you'll have to share the floor with my Cocker Spaniel.

Now that's great looking dog. ;)

Got the Duo Sonic fired up today. Those unknown brand modified Strat pickups under the Duo Sonic covers sound fantastic. Definitely going to be a fun guitar. I'll wait until I put a finish on it before I post any more photo's as all you guy's know what a guitar in the buff looks like.

Danny,
Is there any 'special' calendar date that you had planned on shooting the Duo?
We're all getting excited. All right, well actually I'm wanting to see 'the Finale.' .. ;)

No particular time frame to paint it.

I have a couple of hours playing time on it now. Although it needs a complete set up, this thing is a blast. It sounds great playing surf but really comes to life playing some ballsy blues. If you guy's ever get a chance to try out a Duo Sonic you'll see what I mean. That short scale is soooo cool for some extended blues bends.

How do you find the tone compared to a Strat on the neck or bridge pickup? I imagine the shorter scale has less attack and more mids?

The neck pickup comes through strong but really doesn't have that throaty Strat sound, more like on one of my Ellison Customs. The bridge pickup sounds more like a Tele, and both pickups together is just too cool. Maybe it's just because it is something new to me.

On another note, I just met a guy today that works at the surgery center with my wife. He has a new Gibson Les Paul and brought it over for me to check out. All I can say is, WOW!

Seems like a nice range of tone on the Duo Sonic. What kind of strings are you using on it?

Good to hear that Gibby's Les Paul has a wow factor. It ought to for the price! I haven't played many, but I like the ones with the Bigsby vibratos.
