Has anybody ever wondered how to do this? If you look at wiring diagrams, it's pretty much impossible to find this set up. which is why I'm posting it ;) ;) ;)

this version has a independent volume for the neck and middle single coils, and a independent volume for the humbucker in the bridge. the tone controls all three pickups. however in the 4th position either volume control works as a master volume.

In this version the tone control only works with the bridge pickup.

Cool stuff. 'Had long ago wondered why Strats only had one volume pot. Then got one and figured it was not necessary to have more than one. But your info provides an interesting option. Thank you.

the reason why this can really help is when using a single coil and a humbucker in the same guitar. if you use all humbuckers or all single coils then it's not needed. this is because single coils commonly use 250k pots and humbuckers use 500k. if you use a 500 on a single coil is usually too bright for most people and if you use a 250 on a humbucker is sounds too muddy. some companies (jackson for example) will comprised and use 300k pots. with two volumes you can have the best of both worlds.
