Thanks Sarah, those chrome covers aren't really necessary but they are really part and parcel of this so iconic Fender Bass. It now looks 'complete', like this one shown here:

Hey, Paul--

Very nice! I put those chrome covers on my '51 Precision Reissue bass, too.

Under the bridge one, I put a 1/2" strip of soft foam rubber to mute the strings a bit, as the original Precisions had that under their bridge covers.

That dampens the string sustain a little bit to make the bass sound more like an acoustic string bass.
