The Kustom guitars were made in Chanute Kansas in Kuston's own factory, separate from the amp factory.

The Wurlitzer guitars were made in the Neodesha plant according to the Vintage Guitar article.

I recently sold a late 70s Kustom amp that was black tolex and a Woodson amp that was black tolex. Woodsons were the Missouri (and allegedly Oklahoma) cousins to the Kustoms and Kasinos.

I sill have a late 70s black tolex Kustom that I plan on selling sometime soon.

This sales flyer has the Kustom logo on the front, what is the connection again? Now it is from 1972 so I remember something about the Sooners guitars the fabled Ross Mosrite etc. There are interesting variations on the models pictured in the flyer

Resurrecting an oldie - just a question about whether Kustom is still making the roll/tuck pleated amps? Surfing the channels last evening and on a show called "Glee" the entire band's amps and pa system were red Kustoms in the old style ... be nice to be able to buy these things new again, in all those colors. Kustom's site doesn't show any, but might not be updated ... just wondering.

The last time I went to a NAMM show (2005), Kustom was showing small practice amps covered in tuck-'n'-roll Naugahyde, and within a year, reissue tuck-'n'-roll Kustom PA systems were showing up in the Musicians Friend catalog. If they're not showing up on the Kustom website, they've probably discontinued them.

The amps on the Glee backline look like they are all vintage from the sixties.

I believe that all current Kustom amps are made in China. They were making an all tube tuck and roll head with 4-12 tuck and roll cabinets up until a couple of years ago. Now the amps only have a top front tuck and roll panel. They may still make a small tuck and roll practice amp.

Thanks, Mr. Bill - guess I'll keep hitting Craigslist and pawn shops (sometimes eBay, but usually the shipping is as much as the amps) - cool amps, though.
