Fender 57 Champ Reissue

Postby dellison » Wed Jul 08, 2009 5:16 pm

Looking through my latest issue of Guitar World magazine, I saw an advertisement for a new reissued amp. I thought I read that it was hand wired but I don't have the ad in front of me.

Here's a video review of it from the Guitar World folks (I think the only good thing about their mag is the videos)...

At $1k it a bit pricey but it does seem kind of cool. Especially considering the thread a few months ago about that vintage champ that sold on ebay. Here's the link for the 1958 Champ NIB.

Very interesting. But a thousand bucks for a five watt amp? :o

However, I do love those little tweed Champs. You can find them used on eBay for around that price for the real deal.

Mark at Victoria Amp makes a killer Version of the Champ, custom caps and genuine Allen Bradley resitors, it is a clone of an original except, he made a custom output transformer for it that can drive a 4x12 with ease. Absolutely killer sounding amp. List price of around $900 or so.
