Just got a copy of the Ventures in Tokyo '68 and it's got me seriously GAS'ing for a Mosrite Combo. Ideally, I'm looking for sunburst, black headstock and bound f-hole model (for total Gerry McGee "The Horse" vibe ), but I'm not totally picky about the cosmetic specs. PM me if you've got one.
Thanks!
WTB: 60's Mosrite Combo (sunburst).

Bummer, a nice one with the full trem piece showed up on ebay last night and someone already snagged the BIN. Getting the Maphis seems to have done enough quenching of my thirst for a Combo or I might have snagged it myself.

Re: WTB: 60's Mosrite Combo (sunburst).
I just did a completed listing search and saw it....ouch!!
I checked Ebay last night (it was dry), then started searching various vintage dealer inventory for a few hours. Had I swung back to Ebay before bed, I probably would have seen it and bid. What a drag, it was exactly what I was looking for and pretty much in the budget too.
Anybody on here have one??

There is one on GBase but it is about $1,000 over priced. Maybe they will take an offer.

Hmm... Same price, in red, and with full trem!

Re: WTB: 60's Mosrite Combo (sunburst).
I'm somewhat considering the one in red, but I was really hoping for a sunburst. I found a dealer on the east coast who has exactly what I want, we are a few hundred off on the price, but he seems somewhat willing to deal. He asked to call him back tomorrow (I get the feeling the guitar is on consignment). Will keep everybody posted if I end up with it....fingers crossed!
Thanks for all the leads. Again, if anybody has a sunburst they are willing to let go, shoot me a PM. Would love to do a transaction with a forum member and not have to deal with a used car salesman...er, I mean a guitar dealer.

Empire Guitars in Rhode Island had a sunburst full trem for 2 Grand and I get the feeling they still have it. Not sure how much they're willing to budge on price though. Who knows, I might be willing to take the red off your hands sometime down the line when you find a burst.

Empire Guitars is who I'm trying to deal with on their Combo, it's exactly what I want cosmetically. It's very clean and original, but it's $300-$500 overpriced. I didn't get far with the guy on the floor, I'm supposed to speak with the owner in 45 minutes and hopefully we can work out a deal.

Upon further expection, Don and Gerry's Combos didn't have the full trem, but had the black headstock. That might be a tough guitar to find...I can definitely live with the full trem, but want the bound f-hole and black headstock.

The red one on ebay sold but I just asked to see if Empire still has the Combo in RI. I'll let you know. I don't think they deal with shipping but I could be the middle man if you were interested.
